Taken from the name Aphrodite, the Greek idol of love, aphrodisiacs are elements that are believed to have constituents that augment the desire in the holder or user. Aphrodisiacs may come in the form of foods, herbs, items or drugs. People have eaten items that they thought contained aphrodisiacal properties for thousands of years. The majority of items that are supposed to have aphrodisiacal qualities aren't anything more than placebos, derived from looks or tang or superstitions. Nevertheless, regardless of the numerous of these bogus aphrodisiacs there doesn't signify there are ones that don't function.
